Getting Video from a PC to a TV.

devedeSo.. I have videos I want to move to a DVD.. some are downloaded some are from my Tivo.. in the past this was a Pain in the Arse to get done, and you had to use several programs to do it with.

I’ve recently started using a Program called DeVeDe for Linux, and let me say.. I’m in Heart with it.. I hear a program called DVDFlick also does somthing similar for Windows.. What it does is simple.. it makes DVD images for most video files, even weird ones.. like *.mkv’s.  It allows you to make DVD menus and in General it’s pretty simple and of course they are both Free..

If you’ve ever tried to do this on your own and you just wanted somthing that worked.. I’d suggest this as an alternative to converting.. and finding something to author the dvd with.

Hobbit Movie set to continue.

You probably don’t give a flying Balrog about this.. but a little bit ago the family of J.R.R. Tolkien tried to stop the recent production of “The Hobbit” which if you didn’t already know.. was the story of how Bilbo Baggins got the “One Ring” and then he and some dwarves and some other guys living in a village.. fought a big dragon named Smaug.

Anyhoo it’s a great story.. and a really good read, and it will now be allowed to be made into a movie now that the whole money thing has been sorted out.. I don’t blame the Tolkien Family.. he sold the rights with the stipulation that the Estate would get a percentage.. and Guess what? No money was every paid.. wouldn’t you be pissed too?

So Hobbit movie is set for 2011 and will be a 2 part movie, it will be Directed by Guillermo del Toro, who directed Hellboy. If you are wondering who did the rest of the LOTR movies that was Peter Jackson.. lets hope they make extended versions of these 2, although.. with 2 movies.. they might not have anything to extend.. (lets hope they still cut out all the damn singing tho.)

Where was I? Oh yes. So LaBoeuf, who’s actually a fine actor, is the stand-in for the male viewers’ greatest fears about themselves. No matter how great a loser they might be, they can’t be as losery a loser as Sam Witwicky. And yet, Sam has awesome giant robots stomping around telling him he’s the most important awesome person ever. And he has the hottest girlfriend in the universe, Megan Fox, for whom banality is a huge aphrodisiac. The more pathetic Sam gets, the more Fox’s lips pout and her nipples point, like little Irish setters.

Simply the funniest thing I’ve read all day..
